"No matter what you're going through, How ever bad it may look, or feel...Don't Lose Hope"
It's more than just another Juke-Box musical. It is a message of faith, resilience, passion, and above all else, Hope.
Don't Lose Hope is an original jukebox musical drama series following three young adults — Chad, Stacy, and Stevie — each silently carrying the weight of abuse, addiction, broken homes, and shattered faith. Told through the raw, emotionally intense songs of the 2000's emo era, the series explores what it means to survive, to feel unseen, and to keep going when everything tells you to stop. Don't Lose Hope is an independent passion project created for YouTube — unfiltered, unapologetic, and made for everyone who has ever needed to hear that they are not alone.
Our Vision
Sappy Productions is an up and coming short film production company. Founded by Sarai Sapp, this organization was born from a dream, nurtured into a reality, and surviving with faith bigger than the size of a mustard seed. Turning literal dreams and ideas into a work of art, Sarai looks to inspire others and create opportunities for those who have waited too long for their shot.
A Glimpse into the Characters
***these images are not of the official cast but stock images, an example of what each character looks like***
Stacy
The Reflection of Perfectionism
Brought up in a strict Christian household, Stacy is a firm believer in God but goes against the traditions of the church; deeming them hypocritical and deceitful. She is constantly seeking approval from her father, despite her negative feelings towards the way he treats her and her family. Stacy is a perfectionist who struggles with anxiety and OCD as well as constantly trying to “fix” people. In the early stages, Stacy acknowledges her bisexuality but has yet to come out and explore it in fear of what people may think.
Chad
The Generational Curse
As a child of domestic violence, Chad struggles with his relationship with God and the understanding of a healthy relationship. Chad absolutely adores his stepmother and vows to never be like his dad. He is learning to manage his anger and despises being medicated as well as being in therapy. Chad leans on his connection with Stacy as a coping mechanism and depends too much on her to make him “happy”. Which in turn causes an unhealthy obsession over being with her, despite their relationship issues.
Stevie
The Negative Coping Mechanism
A victim of sexual assault, abuse, and neglect, Stevie has learned to only look out for herself. Her dysfunctional relationship with her mother has taught her that she can’t trust anyone and has no idea what it means to experience love. She lives life in the moment, using negative coping skills such as drugs, alcohol, sex, and other self-destructive tendencies to get through the day. Stevie makes frequent reckless and impulsive decisions in no regard to how they affect others. She firmly believes there is no God and if there was, he hates her.
The Production Crew
Our production team is completely comprised of talented individuals who believe in the story and message we are trying to tell. Just like Sarai, they too have waited so long for their opportunity to have their voices heard, story's told, and talents on display. Please be sure to go to our "About Us" page to learn more about our Production Crew.
What makes us special?
What makes a Sappy Productions film unique or special? Our movies aim to do one thing: help those watching. If you need a laugh, if you need a good cry, or just someone to tell you you're not alone, then my films are for you. I want to create a hub that allows everybody to express themselves freely and be at peace with themselves. We believe in the power of storytelling to connect, heal, and inspire.
